VegaWire is a dynamic new company keen to embrace opportunities in the digital news, entertainment, and education markets.
It was established by Eddie Vega, a Cuban-born writer and journalist, and novelist Cortright McMeel in March 2011. Since then the company has merged with ComedyBeat, a comedy news service, and counts Diane Vacca and Carl Unegbu as corporate partners. The firm has grown to include Alisha Kaplan and Arty Gonzales, who will be spearheading design and production. Mr. McMeel is now serving as publisher emeritus.
Working closely with international firms, writers, and artists, VegaWire publishes electronic trade books and journals in the areas of crime noir, romance fiction, poetry, and other popular genres. These works are published under these and other imprints: Bare Knuckles Press, Hearts Diary Press, Noir Nation Books, VegaTrope, and ComedyBeat.
The company also publishes Noir Nation, a crime fiction journal illustrated with tattoo art.
